A Melbourne student who regularly attends Breakfast Club recently told the school chaplain, “Breaky Club is always better when you and my friends are here.”
This student who said this had a history of school refusal and very low attendance.
However, after starting to help at Breakfast Club for just 20 minutes each morning, they now attend school every Tuesday and Thursday. Those mornings have become a positive first step back into the classroom and learning. With twice weekly engagement and re-connecting with schools, we hope this student can continue their progress in this term and beyond.
Real stories like this show the positive impact of practical, early support.
Thank you for supporting Breakfast Clubs and school chaplaincy across Victoria - helping young people return to school - building connection and resilience. Each step helps young people become happier and healthier. Your ongoing contribution to support school chaplaincy is needed to spread this positive impact!
