Korus Connect and Christian Ministry Advancement (CMA) are offering ‘The Board Internship’ program to prepare young Christians for future board service by immersing them within an active board environment.
This initiative pairs an intern under the age of 35 with a hosting organisation for a one year period, affording participants the unique opportunity for networking, training, mentoring and attendance at board meetings.
The Board Internship model offers good governance to leadership teams as it factors in succession planning for new board members, due to retirement or other mitigating circumstances.
“A growing concern in the ministry sector is where the next generation of competent and spiritually mature board members will come from,” said Korus Connect CEO Dawn Penney.
The program draws on Korus Connect’s vision for thriving communities through partnerships twinned with CMA’s leadership in governance, transparency and accountability, demonstrated in the formation of the CMA Standards Council and their formal accreditation process.
Korus Connect has run a successful internal board internship program for many years and this refined model and partnership allows the program to be delivered more widely with greater resourcing.
