For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
During one of our recent remote working staff check ins, I shared that during this time, we have all been in the same storm but we have not been in the same boat - everyone has their own story and will come out the other side of this time differently. One thing we can agree on is that God's love has sustained us through anything that we have experienced.
Likewise, Paul was able to attest that the love of God was greater than anything he had ever encountered and so he encourages the Romans to accept that nothing they might encounter or even imagine could ever keep them from God's love.
We have felt the same fears and uncertainties for ourselves and for those we love and serve - but we have had the conviction that in the midst of our reality, we were never alone.
God knows the suffering, pain and uncertainty, and giving thanks for this assurance reminds our hearts that life is more than the current dangers. So we can pray with hope in the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, knowing that His unconditional love will surpass anything in our current reality.
Are you, like Paul, convinced of this?
